Restaurant Review: Crust and Cream

The moment I entered her I felt homely and loved already, the smell of love was literarily in the air and I couldn’t wait to have a feel of her. The burst of excitement that gushed out of me when I finally saw a part of her; I was overjoyed when the people that took care of her were heaven sent and so professional.

Love I know is a beautiful thing, whether it’s a person or a thing. Love indeed is a beautiful thing that is why today I have decided to write about a place I love

Crust and Cream is a full service restaurant, which seamlessly combines a bakery, bistro and a “coffice”. It promises to deliver an unforgettably relaxed dining experience, where you can eat, meet and simply retreat.

Parking Space

The parking space of the restaurant is really small though. We ended up parking on the street.

Location: Crust and Cream is located on 11 Musa Yaradua, Victoria Island, Lagos. There is a church adjacent to the restaurant so getting a place to park there when the church has a programme could be frustrating.

You know the saying ” never judge a book by its cover”. Well I might have just learnt it in the most pleasant way. From the outside the restaurant actually looked really small so I wasn’t expecting a lot from the restaurant. As I entered, I was welcomed by the bakery and then ushered into a space endowed with art (I’m a huge fan of art works so I was obviously thrilled). The art work sure created an appealing ambience.

Now let’s get to what we had

We ordered our drinks first. I ordered a chocolate milkshake, my cousin ordered a strawberry milkshake and my Aunt chapman.

Then for appetizer, we had a combination of crispy prawns, breaded plantain, fried yam, crispy calamari, fish tempura, shrimp spring roll, chicken tender and buffalo wings. The combination was very crispy; not too dry and well seasoned.

Then for the main course, I had Chicken Roulade and fries at the side which was beautifully presented and very appealing to my eyes. The chicken was properly cooked, the spinach tasted okay but it was a little overcooked. The feta cheese was simply amazing, it blended so well with the tender chicken.

By the time I was done with my meal, there was no space in my stomach for dessert. I also had to take the rest of my food home.

Customer Service

Immediately we were settled, the waiter brought the menu . They kept checking to make sure we were satisfied, as soon as we were done with a meal they cleared the table and brought the next. Even when my Aunt kept dropping her fork they came as soon to replace it. Asides the meal, I’ll go back here because of the customer service.

The restaurant is quite pricey but with the large serving, it’s totally worth it. Depending on what you’re getting, you can’t go wrong with 10,000 naira.

Would I come back here? Definitely!
