In 2012, I was hit with a devastating news. I had just gotten to my class one morning and a friend of mine looking sad told me his Mum had just passed away. I wondered how much my 15 year old friend had suddenly become motherless and then he told me his Mum died of Breast Cancer. That was when it really hit me that Breast Cancer was real.

A month ago I got an email from the gorgeous Larisa about this collaboration and it was for a Breast Cancer Awareness and I just knew I had to be part of it.

What is Breast Cancer?

Breast cancer in a layman’s language is a cancer that forms in the cells of the breast. It is the most common cancer among women and one in every eight women develop breast cancer. Although breast cancer is most common in women, it also affects men.

Treatment of Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is diagnosed by self examination of the breast, physical examination, mammography, ultrasound testing and biopsy.

Most women with breast cancer will have some type of surgery to remove the tumour. Depending on the type of breast cancer and how advanced it is, you might need other type of treatment as well, wither before or after surgery, or sometimes both.

Typically, treatment plans are based on the type of breast cancer, it’s stages, and any special situations.
