Natural Hair: 4 Easy Back to School Bun Hairstyles with HerGivenHair

Hi guys!

Summer has come and is almost gone and something’s have to go back to place. Such things include school and work, back to school has to be my second favourite time of the year (apart from Christmas). I love the glitz and glam that comes with the new things for school; from the new bags to accessories, clothes and shoes.

It can also be tiring when you have to think of ways to have your hair styled before dashing through the doors to make it in time for school. These back to school bun hairstyles do not have to take hours, in fact you can get it done in few minutes.

All you need for these back to school bun hairstyles is any holding product(I used Eco Styling Gel) of your choice to lay your edges, a brush, bobby pins and hair bands. These back to school hairstyles can be worn on short, medium and long hair. It can also be worm to high school, college/University or work.

The Minnie Bun

This back to school bun hairstyle reminds me a lot of Mickey Mouse, remember Minnie? I’ve worn this style a couple of times and I was mistaken for a child. Simply part your hair down the middle to the nape of your hair. Smoothen your hair with any gel of your choice and put your hair into two pigtail on each side and add your extensions. Finally pin it into a bun and voila you’re done.

Sleek Low Bun

This is definitely my favourite of the four back to school hairstyles because it defines me 100%. Simply smoothen your hair with any hair holding gel and secure the hair with a hair band, add your extensions. Finally, pin it into a bun. Easy right?

High Bun

This is similar to the sleek low bun style mentioned above the only difference is the position of the bun. Position your hair almost in the middle of your head and secure your hair with a hair band, add your extensions then pin the hair into a bun.

High Bun with Bangs

While I achieved all these styles with my lovely extensions from HerGivenHair, remember my post on HerGivenHair? Check this post here if you missed it. Also check out my post on how to grow your natural hair here. You can also check out my wash day process here

Who says a bun can’t be fun? You can add spice to your bun by adding accessories just like I did. My makeup was done by my awesome friend Oyin, you can send her a message here

  4. hi, Pribodunke,I subscribed to your blog and i feel you’re a beautiful person and an even more beautiful writer. I recently cut my hair and started growing it but the issue is I don’t know if i’m doing the right things. I currently wash my hair every week, no pre-poo or anything but i keep my hair moisturised. I use hair wonder shampoo, a random conditioner, cantu leave-in conditioner, and shea butter. Could you give me tips and maybe suggest products i can use further. Thanks

    1. You really don’t need tons of products, these ones you use presently are very okay. But get a deep conditioner for intense moisture.
You’re doing the right things dear, take pictures every month and then compare the results. If you feel its not growing, please shoot me an email and we’ll discuss more. Thank you Love

  5. Love your smile and the dimples, reminds me of my sister. And these ideas are cool. I’ve always had a problem with how to style my hair in school but this past holiday, I restocked on styles if you know what I mean.
My favorite has to be the one with bangs
